It's Important to Stand for What You Believe

Hello Everyone!

In my practice of Angel Readings and Spiritual Counseling, I come across many kind and wonderful souls who are perplexed about incongruities relating to everything from personal family life and business life to the raging inane policies of government. They are not only perplexed about what is going on, they are also perplexed as to what to do about it--even on the basic level.

My spiritually based contention is that many of the people who come to me for Readings, Counseling and Guidance are here for a special purpose, and my role is to help them find their way into expressing and living that purpose. Along the path to discovering and being what they came to earth to be, they frequently come across certain obstacles which need to be addressed.

The following article addresses some of those obstacles and includes a couple of tips to suggest how you can handle it when this happens in your life.

                                             Finding Purpose
                                                     by ZARA ANGEL

Getting in touch with who you really are and what life is really about can be fun, but sometimes it is grueling. Just when you think you have found the perfect formula for finding peace within and staying in it, sometimes you suddenly experience what seems like a complete turn-around. You find yourself doing or saying something that even you cannot understand, much less explain to others. But often, even at these moments, you are spiritually guided more than you realize.

But what is it all about anyway? Being guided by your true inner voice does not always mean being completely peaceful. Sometimes you need to stand up for yourself, and for what you know is right, and this can entail facing opposition, conflict and grief. Yet many of us who are spiritual in nature do not like conflict, and many of us have been conditioned to try keeping the peace no matter what the cost. But peacefully going along with authority is not always the right thing to do. Sometimes when things are upside down, topsy-turvy and counter to human decency, it is time to make waves.

At such times you need to stand up for what you know in your heart is right, even when it’s not convenient. Then you will know you really are on the path. For example, when you have said or done something that you deeply believe but for which you cannot find much support, and those who do not see eye to eye with you are in the process of belittling, harassing and dominating you, and you may remember dozens of times when you tried to speak with people like that in a civil way, but it just didn't work, it is an amazingly good time for a simple retort such as "Go take a long walk on a short pier", or "Bite me!"

In our present society where swear words are incredibly common, you might wonder why I would even imagine that such innocuous sayings such as those above would have any impact at all. Yet when you stop to think about it, since you rarely if ever talk this way, the moment you turn around and tell the unkind perpetrator where to go and/or snap at them, they are shocked. They are so used to our being total and complete pushovers, it throws them off-guard when we suddenly and surprisingly stick up for ourselves.

But what does all this do with finding our purpose in life? EVERYTHING!!! As is written in the book of Ecclesiastes: "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace."

Sometimes doing the right thing does not feel comfortable, nor does it always make you look good to others. Yet our true purpose is pleasing God and the Angels, not simply pleasing the narrow opinions of those who happen to be in our proximity at the time...
